Thilo Thomas Krigar

Biografie:

Der Komponist und Cellist Thilo Thomas Krigar studierte Musik und Violoncello an der UdK Berlin. Weiterhin studierte er Musikwissenschaft bei Prof. Carl Dahlhaus an der TU Berlin.

Im Jahr 1989 gründete er das Ensemble PYTHAGORAS STRINGS. Als Leiter dieses Ensembles und als Solist konzertierte er in über dreißig Ländern und auf internationalen Festivals.

Seit den 90er Jahren wendet er sich verstärkt der Komposition zu. Krigar bezieht sich in seinen Werken oft auf Themen, die außerhalb des musikalischen Kontextes liegen: Poesie, Kunstwerke, wissenschaftliche Themen, philosophische und erkenntnistheoretische Fragen bilden die Ausgangspunkte für seine Arbeit.

Für die Kulturhauptstadt Europas 1997 schuf er „Odyssee“ in Thessaloniki und 1999 „West-Ost-Divan“ in Weimar.

In den Jahren 2000-09 schuf er mit DNA-in-Concert.de eine Sinfonie des Lebens – das Werk stellt erstmals den Fluss der genetischen Information (wie er in unseren Zellen rund 70 Millionen Mal in jedem Moment stattfindet) als ästhetisches Erlebnis dar (NATURE Vol. 435).

2016 hat Krigar eine völlig neue Sextett-Version seiner „Odyssee“ für die Berliner Philharmoniker geschaffen (2017).

Im Jahr 2020 war er Stipendiat des Musikfonds Berlin und schuf symphonische Werke.

In seiner Musik sind Zahl, Intervall und Beziehung zentrale Ausgangspunkte und Quellen für die musikalische Gestaltung und Entwicklung. Seine Musik ist eine Raummusik des „Dazwischen“. Die Prinzipien der „Autopoesie“ und „Polykontextualität“ spielen in Krigars Kompositionen eine herausragende Rolle.

He founded the ensemble PYTHAGORAS STRINGS in 1989. As head of this ensemble und as soloist he has given concerts in over thirty countries and at international festivals.

Since the 90s he turned more and more to composition. Krigar often refers in his works to themes that are outside the musical context: Poetry, works of art, scientific themes, philosophical and epistemological questions provide the starting points for his work.

He created for the Cultural Capital of Europe in 1997 „Odyssee“ in Thessaloniki and 1999 „West-East-Divan“ in Weimar.

Over the years 2000-09 he created a symphony of life with DNA-in-Concert.de – For the first time, the work presents the flow of genetic information – such as takes place in our cells about 70 million times at any moment – as an aesthetic experience (NATURE Vol. 435).

In 2016 Krigar has created a completely new Sextett-Version of his „Odyssee“ for the Berliner Philharmoniker at 2017.

In 2020 he was a scholarship holder of the Musicfonds Berlin, creating symphonic works.

In his music, number, interval and relation are central starting points and sources for musical organization and development. His music is a spatial music of the „in-between.“ The principles of „autopoesis“ and „polycontextuality“ play a prominent role in Krigar’s compositions.
